Question by Papyrus: Why do some feminist women vehemently react against people thinking they are lesbians?

What's so insulting about being a lesbian? A lot of lesbians are very decent people and deserve respect. Is it possible that even in some feminists' mind, lesbians are an abomination? I can understand religious people looking down on lesbians, but feminists? What do you think?

Well, feminists may also be religious and therefore look down on lesbians. However, I think the main problem they have with this assumption is the fact that people think of feminists and lesbians synonymously- no one likes it when people just assume facts about them. I think it's a matter of acknowledgment that there are a lot of straight women interested in feminism too.
